The First Picture

Our story begins even before I acquired Leila, Phoenix's predecessor. As I, a brand new dog owner, was doing research on the internet, I came across a site that had a picture (see left) of a golden in the "stacked" position, a stance used in shows. I saved this picture because it seemed a good example of what a fine golden looked like. Little did I know that I would own this dog four years later.

With the help of breeders and fellow dog owners, I acquired Phoenix on March 10, 2001. She has adjusted very well in her new role as a dog, living among others of her kind. She plays with other dogs in the neighborhood, lives to chase a tennis ball and has an affectionate personality. When I wake up in the morning, she immediately jumps onto my bed, eager to receive hugs 'n rubs that she richly deserves.
