My brother William and his wife Marilyn came to New York today for a whirlwind visit of four days.



Our first stop, just hours after their plane safely landed, was the renewed New York icon, the Empire State Building.

The four of us, including Phoenix, waited outside the building on the sidewalk for about 20 minutes and dreaded the rest of what was probably going to be a huge wait: the Empire State Building is now "the only game intown". As soon as we entered the building, a guard noticed Phoenix and I. He then personally excorted us - out of line - to a private elevator, bypassing the elevator change near the top and took us straight to the observatory. At no charge!!



The view was breathtaking as usual.











Even Phoenix has an awe-full look on her face..
